The Tamiya Group C chassis was introduced to pay homage to the legendary like-named FIA racing class of the 1980's and early 90's. It borrowed the simple & reliable, low-slung suspension design from their open-wheel chassis, featuring rigid front arms with tiny coil springs on the kingpins, and a rear pod with a flexible chassis segment and single longitudinal shock. Sadly full-scale Gr.C racing ceased by 1993, as did Tamiya's production of the scale replicas.
Pros: Light weight, simple construction, very high performance for a sport-level 2WD Cons: Battery compartment only accepts 6-cell shotgun-configured NiCd/NiMH batteries, somewhat limited tuning options
